Outline of the activity
Children use a teacher and a pupil Clip Art image to represent two characters. They insert speech bubbles and type in their Welsh phrases. They record their voices onto their presentation using Powerpoint.
Skills Covered
The children worked in groups within the class encouraging Cooperation to produce a presentation using ICT. They wrote and read their Welsh language patterns with comprehension. They used new software appropriate to their task which enabled them to arrange information effectively in writing. They used timed text, sound effects, pictures from ClipArt and multiple page layouts.
Rationale
It was decided to carry out this task in order to include the use of ICT in the Welsh lessons. The language patterns being taught at the time were being reinforced through the Character representation of the teacher and pupil.
Result
The children have a Welsh resource they have made themselves to keep in their Classroom. They are able to listen to it or read along with it to reinforce the language patterns learned. It can also be shown to future pupils as a teacher/learning resource.
