Outline of the activity
The children used the language patterns they were learning in their Welsh lessons on Gwyliau to write a multimedia presentation. They asked and answered questions and inserted pictures to supplement their text.
Skills Covered
The children worked as a class encouraging cooperation to produce a presentation using ICT. They wrote and read their Welsh language patterns with comprehension. They used new software appropriate to their task which enabled them to arrange information effectively in writing. They used timed text, sound effects, pictures from ClipArt and multiple page layouts.
Rationale
One of the Y6 ICT skills for the term was to prepare a multimedia presentation so it was decided to practice this skill through their Welsh work on Gwyliau, therefore, reinforcing their Welsh language patterns at the same time.
Result
The children delivered their presentation to the rest of the school in assembly time projecting it onto a screen
