TeganauOutline of the activity
Children bring in one toy from home and take a photograph of it using a digital camera. These are then inserted into a computer program and speech bubbles added. The Welsh phrases they have been learning are then typed onto the page.

Skills Covered
The children worked in pairs encouraging cooperation. They wrote and read their Welsh language patterns with comprehension. They used new software appropriate to their task which enabled them to arrange information.

Rationale
The language patterns being taught at the time are reinforced through the presence of the toys and the repetition of the written Welsh. The use of ICT in this task taught the children new IT skills and a teaching resource was produced at the end of the activity.

Result
The children’s work was put into a class book for them to read. This provided a valuable resource in the classroom with the children having the satisfaction that they had made it.
