Introducing Travel and Tourism – Support Exercises

Bob Holland and Ray Youell
These exercises are designed to support the AS Travel and Tourism textbook, Introducing Travel and Tourism, written by Bob Holland and Ray Youell.

The publication is available from www.tandtpublishing.co.uk

The exercises are in four sections:

  • The nature of travel and tourism
  • The characteristics of travel and tourism
  • The structure of the UK travel and tourism industry
  • The development of the UK travel and tourism industry

The exercises are designed to consolidate the learning and understanding of key terms as well as to prepare students for the Unit 1 AS Travel and Tourism examination.  Additionally, the exercises are designed to help students to develop their ability to develop the answers they provide to questions.  Each exercise includes an activity which will assist students in answering the questions. Exercises are either paper based or on line.

Although the exercises are written primarily to the WJEC Travel and Tourism specification, they are of value to centres following the specifications of other awarding bodies.  The exercises will provide an excellent revision aid for students preparing for all AS Travel and Tourism Unit 1 examinations.

Outline suggested answers are provided.
