Students
Advanced only: Year 13: 89 students Year 12 107 students
Of Special Note...
The Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification Advanced Level is universal for all our students at Post 16. We currently have 107 students in Year 12 and 89 students in Year 13 (78 of which have successfully completed the core of the WBQ in March 2006). As a centre, we now have an established delivery programme with timetabled lessons for the delivery of both WEW and PSE
- 4 hours for WEW
- 2 hours for PSE
- 1 hour Tutorial
- 1 hour ICT (if the student does not have a proxy)
These times relate to a fortnight timetable.
Our teaching programme for the WBQ is highly structured with an emphasis on closely defining the learning outcomes and potential key skills opportunities.
Language Module delivery
The delivery of the Language Module is a highly original and creative programme - organised by Mrs Jackie Jones in the Modern Language Department. The emphasis is on giving our students ownership of their language learning, together with the focus on a specific end event.
The module takes place during July of Year 12 and is organised over a two week period. The final event is a Costume Ball which is enjoyed by students and staff.
