National Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Students studying these courses have the opportunity to follow the WBQ.

Delivering the Bac

In the Faculty of A level and the Arts, the WBQ core will be delivered over three hours per week with additional time allocated to mentors to bring together the other elements of the programme.

Taught language sessions occur during the first year with a range of languages on offer including French, Spanish and Mandarin. Many students follow an AS programme in MFL.

In the Faculty of Sport, Lifestyle and Business, the WBQ core is fully integrated into the BTEC Nationals on offer. The language module is delivered in Year 2 of the programmes. Strong links with local schools allow community participation hours to be gained.

In Travel and Tourism, the Individual Investigation is undertaken as part of a residential study visit to Spain where their Spanish language skills are also put into practice.

Enterprise students have taken part in GE Global Challenge and reached the final round. Students have also taken part in a Social Enterprise Day at Swansea University.

Guest speakers are invited for key presentations including Major Rees from Army Careers Wales.

We did this...
