Ysgol y Preseli
About the centre Ysgol y Preseli is a successful designated bilingual school in Pembrokeshire, with rapidly increasing pupil numbers. The school is considered among the best in terms of external examinations. The school was inspected in November 2002 and was judged to be ‘a good school which has succeeded in improving on the high standards which had been noted in the last report. The pupils’ behaviour is good and their attitude to learning is very good.' The school is located in the village of Crymych which is within forty minutes of the M4.
Students The school is part of the third cohort of schools to offer the Welsh Baccalaureate at Intermediate and Advanced levels to Year 12 pupils. The work commenced in September 2005.
Every aspect of the Baccalaureate is taught through the medium of Welsh and the qualification is mandatory for all who return to the sixth form.

- We belive in the principles of introducing the qualification to everyone at every level of ability.
- The Bac provides the opportunity to acknowledge the great variety of internal and extra curricular activities for which the school's students are famous for presenting across Wales.
- It is an advantage that the school is an accredited centre for key skills. This means that we have the right to assess, standardise and moderate with the aid of OCR, the external agency.
