About Campus Operations

Pontypool Campus works in partnership with three local feeder schools, but also competes for post-16 students with other secondary schools in Torfaen.
Recent successful bids for European funding mean that two major building projects are underway at the campus - a Learning Centre and a Construction Science Centre. The campus also has a Lean-It and Hair & Beauty salon in Cwmbran town centre.

Crosskeys Campus is also part of a tertiary system, working closely with five feeder schools. The campus is the largest of the College campuses, and provides a range of programmes predominantly to the 16-19 age group. A new Science block was opened in 2001-2 and further land has been purchased to allow for future development.

Ebbw Vale Campus is a general further education campus. The Campus works closely with local schools, most of whom maintain their own sixth forms. There are proposals to develop a major new Learning Campus on the Corus site in conjunction with Blaenau Gwent Council, UWCN and the Welsh Development Agency.

City of Newport Campus is also a general further education campus working in an area exclusively of 11 to 18 schools. The Campus has a wide range of full and part time courses, and attracts learners of all ages. A new Learning Centre is currently under construction, and should be opened in Spring 2004.

Usk Campus is a landbased campus which provides a variety of training - specialising in Agriculture, Horticulture, Equine and Sport and Leisure. The Campus has a range of specialist facilities including a Farm and Equine Centre. The Campus also runs a Learn-It in Monmouth, providing a range of part-time courses.

The Hill Education & Conference Centre in Abergavenny is a specialist campus providing mainly short and part-time courses for adult learners. After a complete refurbishment in 2002-03 the Centre is now a major regional conference venue.
